Plant Family Changes

In recent years there has been some quite drastic changes in the classification of the members of plant families and the families themselves, based on data from molecular systematics.  Although the APG III system is widely recognized amongst botanists the USDA and Flora of North America have not updated their databases. If you want to know more and see all the changes go to Wikipedia. Below is a list of species on this website which have been reclassified. Plants are listed by their new family classification and then by genus. Click on the New Family name to go to the Family List.
