A shrub growing to 5ft wide and 5ft high. Male and female flowers are on separate plants. Tiny flowers can be inconspicuous, unless there has been good moisture, as shown here. Female flowers are yellow, male are greenish-white.  arrow

Atriplex canescens

 

Leaves are narrow and grayish. It is the winged seeds that are noticed. Initially green, they turn yellow, then tan.
