Grows to 16" with leaning stems and bluish-green dissected leaves. The leaves are as long or longer than the flower stems. The seed pods spread out or point down.

Grows to about 12" from a basal rosette at lower elevations than C. aurea ssp. aurea with less foliage and similar but more robust flowers. The seed pods curve upward.
