Flax (Linaceae) Grows 4" to 18" tall with slender open branches from the base of a hairless stem, and few narrow leaves. Flower petals are a shiny, rich yellow with a hint of maroon at the base, the sepals below the petals, are narrow and pointed with an awn (bristle) at the tip. Flora of North America reference. |
