A striking grass growing 3ft to 7ft tall. Leaves are flat and blue-green. The "rabbit's ears" where the leaf blade attaches to the stem is an identifying feature. The large seed head is plume-like and a soft, golden brown when in flower. The flowers are hairy and have bent awns.
