Grows to 3 ½ft tall with round, densely packed flower heads resembling a small green cattail that may be up to 6" long. Leaves are up to 9" long and bluish-green.

Timothy is widely planted as a hay crop.arrow

Grows no more than 20" high with leaves that are up to 4" long. The plump, purplish flower head is only 1" long.
