Grows over 3ft tall in dense colonies, un-branched, except in the flower head, from a basal rosette of large, upright leaves. Leaves are 12-18'' long. Flowers are tiny and reddish-green, turning brown at maturity.

Grows to 5ft un-branched, except in the flower head, from a basal rosette of leaves . Leaves are up to 12'' long, dull green with very wavy (curly) edges. Flowers are tiny and yellowish or reddish green. The mature plant is reddish-brown.

Grows over 4 to 6 feet tall with branches above the middle. Leaves are narrowly triangular or lance-shaped with smooth or slightly wavy edges up to 14" long. Flower heads turn reddish-brown at maturity.

Grows to 2 feet high with a slender, erect stem. Leaves are often oblong with a narrow middle in the rough shape of a fiddle, and can be wavy edged. Flowers grow in dense whorls forming a long cluster. Distinguished by the long teeth on the edges of the tepals. The whole plant turns red at maturity.
